Annemarie P. Broeker, 80, of Culver passed away on September 14, 2011 at Miller's Merry Manor in Culver. Anne was born on April 2, 1931 to Karl and Frida (Grotz) Aichele in Poplar, Montana. After her father's death, her mom was married to Arthur Urlaub. Anne's family moved to Culver when she was a young girl. She attended West High School and was the Class of 1949 Valedictorian. While in school, she met and fell in love with Raymond L. Broeker. They were married on June 4, 1949 at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Plymouth, Indiana. Together they raised 3 children while operating a vegetable stand for many years on their farm. Anne was also a charter member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Culver. She loved to bake and garden. Anne is survived by her son Robert (Lois) Broeker of Culver; daughters Elaine (James) Frosch of Avon, IN and Susan Broeker of Scottsdale, AZ; and granddaughter Laura (Robert) McMahan of Houston, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, and a grandson. A time of sharing memories with the family will be held on Friday, September 1, 2011 from 5:00 - 7:00PM at the Odom Funeral Home in Culver. Rev. K.C. Dehning will officiate funeral services on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 2:00PM with 1 hour visitation before the service at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Culver. Interment will follow at the Burr Oak Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church. |
