Velma L. Schilling, 81, of Ora, Indiana, died at 6:45AM
on October 20, 2011 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Culver,
Indiana.
Velma was born to Elmer and Glenna (Kessinger)
Matthews on February 15, 1930 in Culver, IN. She
was married on October 25, 1947 at Springville, IN to
Wesley W. Schilling. He survives.
In addition to her husband, Velma is survived by her
son Robert (Sandy Brown) Schilling of Burr Oak,
Indiana, daughters: Beverly (Gary) Burkett of Ora, IN,
Carol (Paul) Olson of Marion, Indiana, and Dora (Clint
Arnett) Mishler of Culver, Indiana; sister Fran (Bill)
Netters of Niles, Michigan, 8 grandchildren, and 6 great-
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her
parents, a brother and a sister.
Visitation will be at the Odom Funeral Home, Culver, IN
on Sunday, October 23, 2011 from 4:00 – 8:00PM
EDT. Rev. Dennis Wilson will officiate the service
which will take place at 11:00AM on Monday, October
24, 2011 with one hour visitation before the service at
the Odom Funeral Home in Culver. Interment will
follow at the Culver Masonic Cemetery in Culver,
Indiana.
